British Airways has suspended all flights in and out of mainland China as the death toll from the coronavirus has reached 132.
“We apologise to customers for the inconvenience, but the safety of our customers and crew is always our priority,” BA said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. “Customers due to travel to or from China in the coming days can find more information on BA.com.”
On Tuesday, the UK advised against “all but essential” travel to mainland China due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Urgent plans to bring British citizens back from the Chinese province of Hubei are being finalised by the government.
Yesterday, Germany confirmed there have been four cases of the virus identified in the country so far, the second EU country to be affected.
